A HAMAC HT3510 telehandler is currently at work on a mid‑rise commercial building project, where it is being used to lift heavy pallets and construction materials to upper floors and roof levels.
The 10.6 m, 3.5 ton machine was selected by the contractor to replace a combination of smaller forklifts and temporary lifting solutions, with the goal of improving safety and speeding up material handling on site.
The building design includes several storeys with restricted space for large cranes and high‑reach equipment, making a compact telehandler with sufficient height a practical choice.
On this project, the HT3510 is primarily tasked with delivering pallets of bricks, blocks, cement and roofing materials to third and fourth floor slabs, as well as handling formwork and reinforcement bundles at various locations around the structure.
Site management reports that the telehandler’s 10.6 m lifting height and 3,500 kg rated capacity are well matched to the typical loads and working levels required on the job.
The HT3510 runs through multiple lift cycles each shift, moving materials from the ground‑level storage area to the active work faces across the building.
Operators on site highlight the machine’s visibility and boom control as key advantages when placing pallets close to slab edges and scaffolding.
“You can see the fork tips clearly and make small corrections at height without disturbing the load,” one operator commented after a series of deliveries to the upper floors.
With a length to carriage of 5.8 m, an overall width of 2.2 m and an overall height of 2.55 m, the HT3510 has been able to move efficiently through narrow access routes and around other equipment on the project.
The telehandler’s 3.15 m wheelbase, 0.35 m ground clearance and 4.25 m external turning radius have helped it navigate uneven ground and tight corners without compromising stability.
The contractor notes that the machine’s travel speed and responsiveness reduce waiting times for crews who depend on timely material deliveries to keep their work progressing.
The HT3510 on site is powered by a Yuchai four‑cylinder diesel engine rated at 103 hp (77.3 kW), delivering up to 400 Nm of torque at 1,400 rpm, paired with a torque converter transmission providing four forward and four reverse gears.
A gear‑type hydraulic pump with a 120 L/min flow drives the boom and attachment functions, giving the operators the ability to perform repeated lift cycles throughout the day without noticeable performance loss.
According to the contractor, the telehandler has maintained consistent lifting speed and control even under busy, multi‑shift conditions.
Before the HT3510 was put into full operation, HAMAC’s local dealer provided start‑up training for the contractor’s operators, covering safe use of the load chart, boom positioning and daily inspection routines.
The machine’s immersed multi‑disc service brakes, automatic air‑cut parking brake and FOPS level 2 cab contribute to the overall safety package on the jobsite.
The contractor has integrated the telehandler into its regular safety checks and toolbox talks, emphasizing proper signaling, communication and exclusion zones during lifting operations.
Since the HT3510 arrived on site, the project team reports a reduction in material handling bottlenecks and fewer delays caused by waiting for lifting equipment to become available.
Crews working on the upper floors now receive pallets and materials closer to their point of use, helping to reduce manual handling and re‑handling of loads.
The contractor expects that the telehandler will remain on site until the main structure and roofing works are completed, and plans to redeploy it to future projects with similar mid‑rise requirements once this job is finished.
